her parents are calm and kind, and they are so obviously in love with their baby-girl.  and there are moments, breathtaking, heart-stopping moments, when that peace in a family shows through the eyes of one so new, and those moments are why we stop everything and still time with the lens…

life is loud, and it moves fast… and there are moments when it all stands still, and our Papa-God reminds us that He is love and He is a creator… and we hold on to those moments however we can.

thank you, mom and dad!  she is perfect.  :)

there’s a feeling you get as a parent when you’re on vacation… it’s that moment when bedtime doesn’t count, and candy’s ok, and being crazy together just comes easy.  it takes getting away from it all and it doesn’t require fancy and it does call for letting go of the everyday.  i can’t imagine a more perfect spot for a family than the sandpearl resort in clearwater, and i somehow think this family doesn’t require vacation for that feeling to happen.

nursing babies and stuffed pet frogs and a dappled, chilly sunrise and sandy toes and giant shells and giggles and snuggles…

thank you, sweet family, for getting up early, and for being just generally wonderful.  amber and jason, your children are beautiful, and you could give lessons on how to have a relaxed family portrait session.  thank you for calling on us to help you capture the first of many vacations on this coast!  :)

hugs… miss angela

fun early-morning engagement session…

the teacher had to incorporate her apple!

normally we do “ring shots” at the wedding.  but joe is the groom who, when he planned for the engagement ring, decided that if ashlee’s going to show off her commitment, he is, too.  he wears a ring to show the world he’s taken.  couldn’t miss the chance to “play.”

…and the cars.  i mean, the cars.  ashlee told us at our first meeting that she wanted to incorporate her uncle’s prized vintage car collection into the engagement session.  i’m not a car girl, but i was practically drooling with awe.  one-of-a-kind cars.  “twins” with just one tiny part different.  a car with tires that were made only once, only for that car, and the only ones in the world.  that was fun.  :)

but ultimately, i’m a sucker for an image created by God-light.  pure heaven.

…yes, ashlee, dear… you’re a blog star!!  (joe, you make a great partner-in-crime).

can’t wait for the wedding!!  hugs!  -brian and angela

hands-down, she’s one of the most tireless, creative, giving, beautiful women i know.  when my friend rebecca says it’s time for

family portraits, i get excited.  because i know it will be as much fun for me to view the images as it is to shoot them.  and because

she’s got two of the best men ever who call her wife and mom.

i’ve got awesome boys.  i’m not afraid to brag a little.  i’m glad they call you friend, nate.  you’re a little bit awesome.

and you DO remind me of the awesome little guy from UP.

no?
