Month: May, 2011
we met alisa at a bridal fair and it was “like, like, like!” on first sight. as luck persistence and patience would have it, alisa bid on, and won, an engagement session we’d donated for the fundraising efforts to help st. pete’s fallen officers’ families. well, when i saw her jumping for joy, i did, too, and i’m still jumping after that session… excited for the sure-to-be-emotional-and beautiful wedding that comes next!

we adore mo, and the sweet lil’ boy who calls him “pokey-mo…” the three of them (you!) make a beautiful family.

pretty, pretty, pretty… romance and mush and kisses…

hey, you two… your wedding day can’t come soon enough for us (maybe you, too!)… it’s going to be beautiful… we’re just honored we get to capture it all!
huge hugs… brian and angela
from the first meeting, to the amazing engagement session, to the most rockin’ wedding dance floor in clearwater, we knew we were going to love john and shannon. their family is precious, their group of friends is so fun we didn’t wanna leave, and the care with which the two of them treat each other is breathtaking.

shannon, you are the definition of lovely.

i wanted to hang with the gang from john and shannon’s wedding all the time. they are so much fun, and it is rare to see such an obviously close group of friends… watching the girls interact with the guys, the insane antics on the dance floor, and even how the “older folks” were just as happy watching the craziness as they were joining in, was such a blast!

THE most perfect bouquet and garter result ever… you guys are adorable

important moments for them? seeing their grandparents. i’m not kidding when i say tears rolled down my cheeks while i watched john, at the end of a long-and-wonderfully-sweaty night of dancing and laughter, take hold of his grandma oh-so-gently and bring her onto the dance floor. smiling as widely as when he’d escorted his bride, he just kept saying to her as he spun her, “you’re doing great!” i think so, too.

seriously, you two… it was such a privelege to spend the day with your family and friends… you are an amazing couple and we can’t wait to hang at the next wedding!
huge hugs… angela and brian
katie and her girls got dolled up at a perfect salon in downtown bradenton. which just so happened to be connected to a bridal salon. where several dresses were purchased for katie’s wedding. the videographer-we-now-adore and i cooked up a scheme to get one beautiful bride into the front display window of that salon. mmm.
kaitlin and her girls got ready in a gorgeous upstairs room of the bed and breakfast where should marry chris in just a little while… in kaitlin’s words:
“Getting ready for the ceremony was very surreal. I could see the ceremony site from the window of the B&B where I was getting ready with all of my girls and my mom. I loved spending that time going from nervous to excited over and over again with such an amazing group of girls.”
i know. there are no words.
most groom-oriented gift: a fenway park t-shirt. followed by tickets to a red sox game. and plane tickets to boston. those, plus kaitlin = one. lucky. groom.
oh dear, those eyes. i think i’d have fallen for him, too, kaitlin!
in his words: “Favorite part of the day: watching Kate coming around the corner.”
pinwheels were such a perfect, whimsical touch throughout the day.
grandmas are wonderful people.
most amazing flower girl. ever. she’s so tiny (always a risky scheme and a sure plan for giggles in a wedding!) and she literally glided down the aisle exclaiming, “i got petals!” she stopped to look in the eyes of guest after guest, row after row, each time again, “i got petals!” when she caught sight one special row she stopped and called, “look mommy, i got petals!” i’ll hear those sweet words ringing whenever i photograph an adorable little flower girl.
not gonna lie. hubby and i both teared up during the mother-son dance and father-daughter dance. and we might have made eyes at each other during kate and chris’s first dance.
there’s such a rich legacy for kaitlin and chris to share with amazing families… kaitlin emailed me when her photos posted to tell me the photo of her grandparents’ wedding rings was so perfect because they incorporated driftwood, “art” that was precious to him. little “happenings” like that remind me that we have a calling to capture what is most precious to our couples, and that we have help from our Papa-God in getting it “right.”
how amazing is it when we are able to share something so important to a family and its history…
{oh, yes, and one of my wedding-favorite-moments- the rocking of the dance floor by a certain mom-of-the-bride and her girlfriends (joined by one of our favorite grooms!) during “it’s raining men.” i’ve never giggled so much!}
two sisters may never have been so close. they’re both marrying (married to, for one!) “chris-es” and they share everything. (we’ll see you two in ybor in just a few days!) oh man… now i miss my sister.
…and after a sparkler send-off, we had the amazing privelege to hop on a sailboat with kaitlin and chris for a midnight cruise. where he told her for the first time the secret location of their honeymoon (a cruise) and the two of them whispered of love and kisses and the people who make their lives so rich…
thanks and “you rock!” to the amazing vendors who helped make kaitlin and chris’s day such a visual feast:
videographer: ian at movie magic productions
ceremony: palmetto riverside inn (wim lippens)
reception and catering: riverhouse
cake: slice of heaven (michelle brazen)
invitations: sparrow design (sarah markus- separate blog post to follow soon on this AMAZING designer!)
pinwheels: (adorableness!) rule 42 on etsy!
cake topper: (another adorable etsy find) sweetie cake topper
sigh. i know, i do that a lot, but trust me, you will, too.
this is not an engagement session. these are not newlyweds. they have been married a lot of years and they have a lot of kids. i mean, more than us. that makes me very happy, because will you look at the romance here? it won’t be the first or last time i say this: marriage is sexy. in case you didn’t know, God made it that way.
so for a really romantic way to celebrate a big anniversary, adam and noelle decided to book a photo shoot. they’d romance each other (i’m pretty sure they do anyway) and capture it in an album to look back on and be reminded of how awesome is their love for each other. what an amazing example for their kids and their someday-grandkids. what i wouldn’t give to have seen this in my grandparents’ home. (i’m so thankful for the way my grandma ruth still talks about my grandpa with stars in her eyes.) can you see how adam makes noelle giggle?
oh, noelle.
stopping to check on the kids. do you think they had any idea what was going on without them?!
there were some interesting onlookers this particular night, and they even took to giving ideas for more steamy ideas. sometimes that can really shut down the connection between a couple. not adam and noelle… they took it all in (married-for-years-confident) stride. i think it made the experience even more romantic.
oh, dear (and i mean my dear here – this series he played lead shooter.)… wow.
didn’t i tell you they’d make you sigh, too? come on!
you guys just made us laugh, and you made us want to go home and make out. i’m not gonna lie. you are an awesome example of what it’s supposed to be like.
thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to celebrate your marrige with you, and to help you chronicle the legacy. xoxo!
adam and noelle actually met in this spot. who wouldn’t have fallen in love with her?!
