warning, mamas: we must have a gift for putting you into labor (almost.)  to be fair, we did wait waaaay into brittany’s pregnancy to do her maternity session (she graciously waited for our schedule to open up a tad), and she didn’t actually go into labor until a almost week later.  baby graeme waited until his mommy had hosted a bridal shower for his aunt catie.  and then he came into this world… and tomorrow i get to capture him at just three days old.  i might not sleep a wink.

jeremy and brit were kind enough (and brave enough!) to let me play with some studio techniques… while i far prefer outdoor, location sessions for their variety and freedom, we are constantly challenging ourselves to grow and stretch in our art.  thank you guys… i would (will!) hang your images on my wall!

before we post his newborn images, i thought we might share his mommy and daddy and big brother r’s belly session.

congratulations on the birth of your second son, guys.  we can’t wait to meet him!

sigh.  little miss just joined the most precious family – three older siblings to adore her, a proud and attentive mommy and daddy, and a whole bunch of other friends and family make up her admiring public.  the princess came to the studio with her mommy and big sister (a girls’ day out – daddy had the boys!), and i soaked up every minute of it.

you know i’m a sucker for redheads, so i was pretty excited when the perky lil’ ariel gave me the privelege of grabbing a couple images of her. sigh…

i love those delicious sleepy shots, but those moments when they’re awake and content soaking in the world around them, well, those are just frosting on the yummy-baby-cake.  and frosting, well it’s the whole point, isn’t it?

i’ve mentioned before how spoiled i am to photograph miss “k” and her brother and sister.  seriously, any photographer would envy me… they make my job easier than sipping a latte (and sweeter, too)…  we met recently to capture six months photographs for baby-girl’s first year album.  i’ve been stretching my comfort zone and doing some work in the studio, and it was really fun to have one of the best models on the planet to work with. well… i’ll just let the images speak.

riley, her guests, and her momma have been crazy-patient with me as her party fell before the Christmas craze, and then we had a little time securing the model releases… {aspiring photographers, here’s a little side note: never, ever publish the images of children, especially, without releases.  it’s so important to protect our kids and honor our clients!!}

riley’s guests brought their American Girls dolls or other special friends, and they enjoyed cupcakes and fruit along with “tea,” and each girl had her photo taken at our portrait cottage!
