we had such a beautiful just-after-sunrise session with rachel and her beautiful family… full post coming soon!
just a few “girls nights” ago as i went for a starbuck’s run with my a-girl, she wondered aloud, “where do you think i’ll buy my wedding dress?”
(let me qualify here: i have one beautiful daughter and four boys whom i adore. but let me say it again, one daughter. my husband and i are wedding photographers. duh. so when she mentions dreams for her wedding day, i don’t just smile. i hear angels singing. my poor, poor someday-budget. but, i digress.)

as she daydreamed, our a-girl noted that the exact location of her someday-shopping-extravaganza wasn’t so important as the who of her attendants on that day (and she has a very specific and streamlined list of friends and family who will be wedding dress shopping with her), and that “it needs to have a lot of mirrors and a pedestal for me to stand on”. that’s my girl.

after my first visit to malindy elene couture for the bride in st pete, i believe i may have found the boutique of my girl’s dreams.

i was able to pop in for a few minutes during the reem acra trunk show and oh, my, the dresses!

THIS dress makes me want to get married all. over. again.

and this one makes me want to dance…

and this one just makes me want to be the star of my own styled wedding shoot.

after meeting lindy and her beautiful assistant, i would wholeheartedly send our brides their way. looking for a perfect day of being spoiled rotten, having lots of mirrors, and a pedestal to stand on? we have a couple years in this house, but if you’re looking for a dress, go there now. what are you waiting for? (wait – if you’re one of our brides, call me first… i’m coming with you!)
she lights up the stage, and she lights up the room… watch for this one.
oh and a shout-out to ellie’s sister, the amazing catie of euphoria salon. girls, i tell you, it’s such a good idea to hire a pro when it comes to hair and makeup for your session!
i said i didn’t enjoy working in studio, but maybe i’m changing my mind…
oh, ellie… from our first senior portrait session, to now as you dive into your career, i so love photographing you. you have a bright future… the stage (and the camera!) loves you!
but i also love this one in the black and white. such a vintage feel. yes.
so when we fell in love with nate and jacqui, they were kind enough to invite us back for their second reception, where jacqui’s gorgeous mom introduced us to the amazing Aqua Groove. we grabbed a couple shots of the fun and talented crew, and we proudly recommend them for your future events! julie and boyd and the rest of the crew are as talented on the stage as they are engaging off the stage.
beautiful erica. powerhouse voice.
jamie isn’t always performing with the band, but since her hubby’s the sax player and her daughter is the bride here, she made a special guest appearance. yes, i said it, that’s the MOM OF THE BRIDE. wowness.
and a special serenade for nate and jacqui, whom we adore.
(it just so happens that rich is also her stepdad. how delightfully convenient.)
and a couple “promo” shots, just for fun…

it’s always a huge honor when your family respects your work enough to refer you to others! the in-laws are lucky enough to work alongside a lovely and kind staff at Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center, and when they decided to revamp their website, they called us! we worked hard and took advantage of the lake and its wonderful play-time opportunities with the kids on our last day, and got in a lil’ family visit in the mix! i’m obsessed with these chairs… nope, with the whole setting.
kick off your shoes and stay awhile.
had some great models.
the camp is a great place for youth groups and women’s groups and even someone like the pastor who snuck away for a solitary retreat (we promise our paparazzi didn’t intrude…)
the history of the place is amazing. names like Dewey (as in, the decimal system) are tied into the founding of this campground and even the city of Lake Placid! the buildings at the heart of the campground are a gorgeous reflection of the artistry of former times.
aaaaaand couldn’t neglect a lil’ sackett behind-the-scenes adventuring. i may never forgive my poor husband for buying the van without me (he knew what i’d say!!), but i gotta admit it’s come in handy on sessions. in addition to providing on-the-spot birds-eye-view shooting locations, it makes a great dressing room. i did NOT say i like it.
oh, and there’s me, bossin’ as usual. those nice people put up with it!
aaaaand hello, will you LOOK at this place?!
thanks, anthony and the rest of the staff, for inviting us out! we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to help you show off the beauty of Lake Placid Camp and Conference Center!
hugs… brian and angela (and the crew…)
