i love families with lots of kids. let me rephrase that: i LOVE families with lots of kids! it makes for good entertainment, a great workout, and most importantly, lots of laughs! what else is to be expected when you put together cool locations, technical equipment, and fun people!
what a beautiful mom of four boys and one little angel-girl! this one’s going to be “a surprise,” so the family is building anticipation to meet their little one!

when she said the words “we’ll be the family in green and purple,” i grinned ear-to-ear and prayed she wasn’t teasing me. it’s proof that you don’t have to go with the “classic” black or white to look clean and polished and just downright adorable!
no way could we have made this session without my two amazing toddler-watching, giggle-inducing, light-holding assistants. and they both shot on this session. because they teasingly accuse me of stealing their shots, they’ve developed a system whereby whoever grabs the camera, takes a shot of his or her foot to signify, these next rockin’ images are mine.
can i tell you how much i love that while i’m hanging with one or more siblings, one of my own is off creating fun images with the others?
guys, your family is beautiful. your boys are gentlemen and sweet-spirited young men. dad, you’ve got two beautiful women to take care of and it was fun being part of your gorgeous journey as a growing family! i can’t wait to meet baby this summer.
hugs! –angela (and brian jr. and anna)
sweet Rocket-boy. quite cautious and ever-so-careful of strangers, especially the male variety. smart and speedy and loyal-on-loyal to his people. happy-dog, daily-miles-walking-buddy and couch-potato-movie-watcher extraordinaire.

sometimes-mama’s-boy and all-the-time-dad’s-buddy, you made me work for the smiles today, and it was the most fun afternoon ever.

i loved hanging with your kitty-sister, but running in the frozen field with you was (don’t tell her!) even better. have a good year, Rocket-dog!

WOOF! hugs – angela
i must confess, i have had no interest in pet portraits. my oldest says he’d like to pursue doing them, but my joy in families, and new little baby-sweetness, and on-the-cusp-of-adventure high school seniors, and in blushing brides and nervous grooms and deep-wrinkled grandmas, has been more than enough.
i look in awe at the work of amazing artists who can let you into the very being of treasured family pets and wild animals alike, and i’m thankful for their work. but till now, i haven’t been remotely tempted to try my hand at it.
being here with my parents in North Carolina, though, and being presented with some serious pet personality, has lured me to the challenge of capturing the large personalities of these family members. i present to you Muffin, also known as the Queen of the Universe.
here’s hoping i can capture your dog ”brother” in his shy sweetness, too, little kitty!
happy New Year with meows and hugs!! –angela

I LOVE these photographs of the dog! They’re wonderful. Animals aren’t easy to photograph. I know because I’ve had to take Pet of the Week photos for the Fremont Tribune! They don’t always cooperate!
BTW, you mentioned my book. I forgot to tell you that you can read excerpts on my Web site at http://www.realspiritualspinach.com. There’s about 5 stories. I’d love to have you read them and blog about them. My columns also can be found on http://www.fremonttribune.com
Thanks!
And again, great photos!
