kindred spirits {st pete beach family portraits}

did you ever know before you even met someone that you were girlfriends?  from the first email i received from nikki, i was like a kid waiting for Christmas, excited to meet her.  maybe it was her online boutique, polka stripe, chock full of goodies destined to make any mom or photographer swoon.  maybe it was her glittery language that made me feel like we’d met for coffee and were best of heart-friends.  could’ve been her kind words and creative ideas for her session… and the giant box she arrived with, shipped from cali (and little did i know that like the Christmas elf, she planned to send that box home with me!!  whee!!).  whatever it was, i was excited for the family session planned to coincide with a family reunion trip to florida.

um, yes, this little ensemble is adorable, defined.  and yes, i have a couple of these available for your photographic enjoyment.  these fit bigger girls, as well, so start planning your session! (and for you mommas of teeny girls, i have a new line at the studio from a sweet local friend… ask me!!)

 furthermore, if you have to have your own (or two), stop by and visit my new friend nikki here!

i want to eat this little man for dessert. please don’t tell anyone – i don’t want to be the scary photographer. :)

the men.

nikki, it was pure joy to meet your sweet family.  even though i turned it down (who can bypass a diet coke?!), i loved your hubby for offering me a beer at nine a.m.  your boys made me giggle and your girls made me melt, and i look forward to meeting again!

big hugs, girlfriend!  xo – angela

summer brights {family portraits what-to-wear}

i’ve got a super-cool spot in mind to try out for some somewhat-urban family portraits, and this inspiration guide would be a fabulous starting point for a fun, vibrant summer session!

lazy summer days {summer portraits what-to-wear}

I’m loving this palette of ideas that would be gorgeous for an early morning summer beach or field session!  Here’s a perfect example of dressing couples and familes to compliment one another… don’t forget that taking a cue from your home’s decor can be a great way to inspire your session and “set the stage” for the beautiful images that will serve as art that chronicles your family’s precious legacy.

…in which there were little boys and a big dog {tampa bay family portraits}

love that she had cool beachy “props.”  love that the boys are giggly and speedy and camera-shy.  love that dad offered to be part of more “just the two of us” photos… and rolled in the waves with his beautiful bride.  love that we giggled till our sides hurt and they hung in for still more.  thank you so much tifnie and ALL the guys, for a wonderful evening.  thank you, sweet and wonderful grandma, for working as hard as we did (and thank you to two of MY boys for working so hard!).  you guys are the best!

tifnie stole my momma’s heart with her total “let them be kids” attitude toward the session (and dad, you did, too!)… it’s so hard to let go and live in the moment when you’ve planned clothes and fun goodies, but it gave us the precious gift of capturing true family-joy… sigh…

 oh wow, oh my.

 please leave your thoughts and sweetness in the comments section.  :)

hugs!  –angela (and two of MY boys…)  :)

giggles and kisses {clearwater engagement photographer}

when my anna-girl saw these images she said, “how cute is SHE??” my sentiments, exactly, sister! after i met these two (and it was an adventure getting there…) i prayed they’d want to work with us, because, oh, my, i loved them on the spot!  nate is just the kind of guy who immediately feels like your long-lost-big-brother you wish you had, and jacqui defines the world adorable.  her little bit of flirt combined with the depth of a woman who is graceful and God-honoring, is just, well, inspiring.

a few minutes into the session we ended up near a golf course.  with an impish grin nate mentioned casually, “i really, really love golf… i didn’t see anyone on the course… do you think?…”  um, YES, yes, YES!

aaaaaand, yes.

sometimes life just spoils you with a perfect moment. love the bus. and jacqui, these shots were perfect! hope we captured your vision! {only i doubt you knew how beautiful you looked. nate did. :) }

so, yeah, a funny thing: i totally missplaced my car keys on this shoot.  ironically, the Easter bunny just gave me a key-finder keychain.  never-you-mind, nate and jacqui dove into our conversion van (don’t ask) and went looking.  giggling the whole way.   assuring me THEY do it all the time… to make me feel better.  and it all worked out even, because i ended up with all jacqui’s clothes in that van.  and nate’s phone.  and nate’s keys.  hee,hee.  i promised my hubby will be the organized one on the wedding day.  he will!

i seriously love you two!  we can’t wait to have the most fabulous time on your may wedding day!

leave some love for nate and jacqui, y’all.  15 comments =  special gift for the newlyweds!

hugs!  angela
