we’ve been spoiled to be part of many landmark moments for summer and jason’s family, and a ten year anniversary was reason enough to celebrate! summer chose to get back in her wedding dress (she has two boys – we will choose to love her.
) she and jason share a love for competitive soccer, so we decided to incorporate that into an even more fun “beloved” session.
(little side note: just as he landed, jason slid into a shredded drink can. his hand ended up – well – shredded. and still he went on with the shoot, literally “taking one for the team.” swoon…)
halfway through our session, it clouded up and started to rain! not to be bothered, summer grabbed our light umbrella and used it to guard herself and our gear.
(no dresses were actually harmed in the making of these images…)
…and as if to visually offer a blessing, the master Artist painted us a rainbow for a backdrop.
thank you, summer and jason, for an awesome night! we battled rain, mud, dangerous litter, and background traffic, and you guys laughed through it all. we “heart” you!
-hugs… brian and angela
there is a growing trend, initiated by an incredible artist named jesh derox, toward photography which not only captures the love between people, but actually aims to renew it, revive it, and help it grow. this has always been my heart, and it is pure joy to get to participate in a session where our clients open up and share their stories and their hearts.
nicole and brent’s one year anniversary was coming and she decided it would be awesome to celebrate with a portrait session (um, yeah!).
because of some events-that-were-out-of-anyone’s control on her wedding day (they may have involved a rebellious puppy and family members having to chase said errant pet), nicole really wanted photos with her parents. she also wanted them to have some of the two of them. (i learned in our time together that they only have a few polaroids from their wedding day…) she copied me on the adorable email she wrote the family convincing them of the need for their session, and i think it worked, because everyone came happy to partake!
i can’t express in words the joy it was to see eddie and gwen relax into decades of married commitment… and enjoy capturing their fond memories of betsy (this is the Triumph that took them on their earliest dates, and on which eddie proposed to gwen. you heard that right!)
brent was up for anything to make his bride happy. i think the session did that, but i think he’s been doing it for at least a year.
nicole had seen a cool idea on pinterest to incorporate a photo from the year before into their annual sessions… so we had to recreate the feel of the framed wedding portrait she brought!
a beloved session is an incredible way to remember what drew you together in the first place. it’s an awesome opportunity to step away from busy, and to look each other in the eye, and to capture that love you have, to pass on to the next generation.
thank you, nicole and brent, eddie and gwen, for trusting me with your hearts!
hugs! angela
playing a little bit of catch up on the blogging side… snort – a little bit.
but this session is worth the wait. cool, very cool people. gorgeous boys. i mean gorgeous. and the light? yeah.
thank you, crazy-cool people. you know i wanted for a very long time to shoot you.
hugs!! –angela (and brian
)
when we met chi and lynn at jenny and greg’s wedding (visit them here and here), our daughter couldn’t stop talking about chi’s beautiful skin.
i couldn’t stop thinking about how beautiful they are as a couple! we were super excited when they chose us to photograph their wedding (it’s going to be full of gorgeous cultural richness) and we had a wonderful time with them on their engagement session. we laughed…
(a little secret: chi told me at first that he’s seen how some couples just look comfortable and romantic on camera, but he just felt awkward). ahem…
about 30 minutes into the session, thunder rolled, lightning flashed, and it started to rain. now, by rain, what i actually mean is a torrential downpour that soaked all the way through my water-tight lens bag… blustered sideways under our umbrellas, and drenched us all to our undergarments. and through that 5 minutes of insanity, chi and lynn smiled and snuggled and danced in the rain… and we fell in love, too.
thank you guys, for being funny and wonderful and adventurous. we can’t wait for your beautiful wedding day!
hugs… brian and angela
ari and amanda, you guys are awesome together. we both talked after your session about all the little stolen moments between you two… ‘tho we’re always willing to give some direction, it was really sweet to just stay back and watch the two of you interact in your own little world. your engagement session is awesome!
rock star.
love that you two could get lost in each other in the middle of downtown st. petersburg. love that slow dancing with a possible audience didn’t throw you a bit.
so. hot. and i don’t mean the weather.
thank you guys for an awesome evening! we can’t wait for your amazing wedding day!!
hugs – brian and angela
