hello. my name is angela.  i am a blog slacker.  :)

i KNOW i need to keep up, and that our readers want to see what we’re up to.  (reminded this morning by a bride who wants to see some sunset work, so voila!)

it’s just that we’re so busy LIVING the moments, that i forget to blog.  i confess.  forgive me?  i promise to try to do better.  so here’s a favorite engagement session.  i love, love, love nicole and craig.  i hoped and prayed that they’d remember us from another faaaaavorite couple’s wedding.  which they did.  and i can’t WAIT for their wedding.  so there.

it was awesome going back to the spot of your first date… and your proposal… and now your most awesome engagement portraits.

thanks for hanging with us, and for choosing us to capture the journey!

fun early-morning engagement session…

the teacher had to incorporate her apple!

normally we do “ring shots” at the wedding.  but joe is the groom who, when he planned for the engagement ring, decided that if ashlee’s going to show off her commitment, he is, too.  he wears a ring to show the world he’s taken.  couldn’t miss the chance to “play.”

…and the cars.  i mean, the cars.  ashlee told us at our first meeting that she wanted to incorporate her uncle’s prized vintage car collection into the engagement session.  i’m not a car girl, but i was practically drooling with awe.  one-of-a-kind cars.  “twins” with just one tiny part different.  a car with tires that were made only once, only for that car, and the only ones in the world.  that was fun.  :)

but ultimately, i’m a sucker for an image created by God-light.  pure heaven.

…yes, ashlee, dear… you’re a blog star!!  (joe, you make a great partner-in-crime).

can’t wait for the wedding!!  hugs!  -brian and angela

sara and jason {clearwater firefighter engagement session}

…as if it isn’t enough to have a beautiful girl and a (ahem, yes) handsome guy in love… add in that he is a firefighter.  and that we got to “play” at the firehouse (it’s serious work done there, but the guys willingly obliged to allow us to shoot with the truck and in the amazing training facility).  talk about romance and heroism and true love in one great story…

i saw a comment on this image on sara’s facebook page something along the lines of, “pardon me and don’t be offended if i say i wish i were the fire truck!”  ha.  :)

at this point i (angela) was shooting and brian was lighting… props to our oldest who assisted us that night for the suggestion of, “quick, mom, come over here and shoot this angle with the sillhouette!”  i love being part of a team.  :)

oh, how we love that we FINALLY get to photograph one of the funniest, most gorgeous, sweetest couples we know.  thanks for making us crack up and making us feel pretty darn romantic when we headed home, and for making brian jr. feel so welcome and comfortable in your fire suit, jason!  we love you guys and we are living for the big day!!

huge “run-into-your-arms-and-tackle-you” hugs!   brian and angela

chi and lynn {clearwater engagement photographer}

when we met chi and lynn at jenny and greg’s wedding (visit them here and here), our daughter couldn’t stop talking about chi’s beautiful skin.  :)   i couldn’t stop thinking about how beautiful they are as a couple!  we were super excited when they chose us to photograph their wedding (it’s going to be full of gorgeous cultural richness) and we had a wonderful time with them on their engagement session.  we laughed…

(a little secret: chi told me at first that he’s seen how some couples just look comfortable and romantic on camera, but he just felt awkward).  ahem…

about 30 minutes into the session, thunder rolled, lightning flashed, and it started to rain.  now, by rain, what i actually mean is a torrential downpour that soaked all the way through my water-tight lens bag… blustered sideways under our umbrellas, and drenched us all to our undergarments.  and through that 5 minutes of insanity, chi and lynn smiled and snuggled and danced in the rain… and we fell in love, too.  :)

thank you guys, for being funny and wonderful and adventurous.  we can’t wait for your beautiful wedding day!

hugs… brian and angela
