ashlee and joe {st pete clearwater engagement portraits}

fun early-morning engagement session…

the teacher had to incorporate her apple!

normally we do “ring shots” at the wedding.  but joe is the groom who, when he planned for the engagement ring, decided that if ashlee’s going to show off her commitment, he is, too.  he wears a ring to show the world he’s taken.  couldn’t miss the chance to “play.”

…and the cars.  i mean, the cars.  ashlee told us at our first meeting that she wanted to incorporate her uncle’s prized vintage car collection into the engagement session.  i’m not a car girl, but i was practically drooling with awe.  one-of-a-kind cars.  “twins” with just one tiny part different.  a car with tires that were made only once, only for that car, and the only ones in the world.  that was fun.  :)

but ultimately, i’m a sucker for an image created by God-light.  pure heaven.

…yes, ashlee, dear… you’re a blog star!!  (joe, you make a great partner-in-crime).

can’t wait for the wedding!!  hugs!  -brian and angela

featured – oh lovely day wedding blog! {east coast florida vintage wedding photography}

have you seen oh lovely day?  it’s a delightful blog full of inspiration and, well, lovelies for everything wedding.  and guess who’s the featured wedding today?  a little hint:

one of my all-time favorite wedding moments (remember the warming of the rings?) took place at lauren and james’ wedding… i still can’t tell the story of the look of awe on lauren’s mom’s face when she held those rings and the significance of her beautiful daughter’s wedding day hit her full force without getting teary-eyed…

lauren and james, your wedding truly exemplified “lovely.” thank you again for letting us be there, and congratulations on being featured to inspire other couples!

-hugs!  angela (and brian)

sweet photographer friend {florida vintage beach portraits}

just such an honor when a fellow artist trusts you with her own family.  this is my friend shelya of pinstripes and paisley photography.  shelya, you are a dear friend and i LOVED our morning together!!

(and oh, my dear friend, there is a whole WALL of canvas here!)

shelya’s mom is such a beautiful lady… i love that she was not only willing, but excited to have portraits done of herself!  every time i see my grandma, i try to get her on camera.  she plays hard-to-get, but know how precious those images are and will be…

those lips…

(kelly, you are wonderful!  thank you to a client and friend for your help this morning!)

**if you’d like to know more about shelya, you can find her at paisley and pinstripes photography!  she styled this entire shoot, and it was a blast collaborating together…

alena and thomas {vintage selby gardens wedding photography}

i have a degree in theatre and communication, so i love me some wedding-day drama.  of the right kind.  alena and thomas’ vintage 1920′s wedding was all that.  thank you, thank you two for allowing us to be there to capture it for you!!

thomas, you’re the perfect combination of the “strong silent type” and a gentle spirit.

alena, you’re the perfect balance of a crazy girl and a beautiful, elegant lady.  :)

chills.  love the way a strong man looks at the woman he’s promising to care for, forever.

it’s the coolest feeling when you see amazing light and you’re able to grab it in the seconds before it disappears.  i was on the other side of thomas and alena when i noticed the little God-kiss of light peeking through the trees and i scrambled like a madwoman, tripping over the roots of the grand banyan tree, to get these.  sigh…

we didn’t know this was coming, so we scrambled to get into position to shoot it.  :)   alena and thomas painted their handprints onto a canvas as a wedding keepsake.  awesome!

no words needed.

super-fun reception with all kinds of vintage and modern details, and our ever-awesome photobooth.  (hint: if you’re looking for an awesome “something to do” option for your guests, you want my hubby to man your photobooth.  he’s the man.)

the shot above includes some of our favorite people on earth… our brides and grooms (past and future?  :) )

…and just because we never (or at least not too, too often) “shoot ouselves,” one of our amazing brides took this “mush” shot of the sweaty two of us.  ’cause we’re in love, too!

big hugs… brian and angela
